"EXPANDING into Grace" by Beverly A. Stickley

September, 2017

Grace is defined as a movement that is smooth, flowing and attractive, a movement that is not

displaying awkwardness or stiffness. Heavenly grace is granting favour, goodwill and loving kindness

to everyone and it is not based on deservingness.

I had spent a busy week advertising, placing ads on social media and trying to make things happen to sell my property and

move forward with my life. It felt like my efforts were tiresome, relentless and somewhat heartfelt; and I felt that I could will

things to shift in my life. It was to no avail as I realized this is not by my will, force, or my perseverance, but it is by the

creator’s divine timing and his will.

I decided to take my Monday off and connect with things I absolutely loved to do. I started my day and went for a twenty

kilometer bike ride on a trail that led to a surfing beach. There were people everywhere on the trails and at the beach. I said

good morning to people cycling, fishing and walking their dogs. Someone asked if I wanted my picture taken with my bike

so I would have a nice picture of me. I in turn asked a lady if she would like a picture of her and her companions. She

recognized my accent right away and was from the same east coast area in Canada! She was very happy with her picture of

her and her family on this beautiful east coast surfing beach, as was I with my picture of me and my bike!

My evening was planned to meet a friend, take a ferry ride to connect with a twin city and attend a downtown event. I was

excited; I was going to see a well known Spiritual Medium - Theresa Caputo! The downtown core was buzzing, people were happy as

it was summer and the weather was beautiful. Enroute to see the show I met up with people visiting the city from my

hometown. They had attended the show the night before and had loved it! I connected with people in the foyer and it

turned out that they were the people sitting next to me, in a room of two thousand people. I mention this simply because

the same thing happened to me at the last event I attended. I felt like I had extended my network of people at the event

which added to the enjoyment and excitement of viewing the live show!

When all else fails, step back and connect with nature and people and do the things that make your heart expand, the things

that make you high on life and living. Connections are everywhere when you are in flow with life and in your happy place.

This is where you radiate an expansive energy and the magic happens. Be kindness, have patience and believe in your

goodness and extending it to others. Your own well being is indeed paramount; your life truly does depend on it!

"Protecting Yourself and Your Beliefs!" by Beverly A. Stickley

JULY, 2017

At what cost are you willing to protect your beliefs and are they protecting you and keeping you safe. When we start to resist and take a stance, we may be resisting our purpose. Movement is good, flow is good. Surrendering and having trust and faith is powerful and you feel the strength of renewal.

I think it is healthy to push ourselves beyond our comfort zone to build confidence and stretch ourselves past our normal limits. I have been doing exactly that in many ways to begin growing myself. In my latest endeavor for growth and expansion I connected with a group of people to go zip lining in the trees last week. I wanted to do something fun and exciting with some people that I volunteer with for first aid. I quickly found myself after a brief introduction climbing three sets of ladders up to a platform built in the trees about 25 feet in the air. I was not feeling my legs as I was not fond of heights. I thought in my mind how do I get down from here when there are five or more people climbing behind me. I had to check in with my body and ask if it was okay; it was a little nervous but giving me the green light. It was like something had taken over my body; my higher self was overriding my mind because it was staying calm.

I was letting my higher self and God lead me where I needed to go and grow; and my physical body was literally just along for the ride. I feel like my mind was the adolescent listening to its elders with the abundance of wisdom. There was a complete vulnerability and faith and trust that they would guide me through this process. Again I went on to a more advanced climbing course and zip line. I started to climb even though my feet did not want to leave terra firma. I felt I was on a mission to become a braver more courageous person and this was my obstacle to overcome that would lead me to conquering other things in my life. For me it was a time to grow and shine and it was powerful!

The group I went with seemed to be overjoyed at each zip line course and two of the ladies were scaling rock walls. As I watched I thought I am going to start practicing that rock wall and get to the top. I was already considering my next physical, mental and spiritual challenge and setting goals.

Who made us afraid, who made us shut the curtains and not wish for more, not want for more.

Feeling safe sometimes feels uncomfortable because you are curious by nature – as a child you had a sense of exploration and imagination. Is it time to regain that sense of wonder and awe?

"Journey Home to Self Love" by Beverly A. Stickley

JUNE, 2017

I am as many of you are, on a journey home to self love. Many times I have had to push myself out of my comfort zone, clarify what it is exactly that I want and remember to live life and find joy in the simple things! I am finding out that I am a runner and nature is my home away from home. My dream has always been to complete a triathlon and I started a “learn to run” program to gain confidence in that area. I have since completed two half marathons and connected with two job offers while running and meeting other physically active people on a similar quest of growth and achieving health.

Clarifying what I want in my life is huge for me as I am very easily distracted and completion is a four letter word. The more multitasking I am able to do, the more I feel I have accomplished. Also, the more self worth I feel entitled to as if it were a game of life with the more certificates you have, the more self-worth you are able to claim. Proving to yourself and others that you are worthy of your new job, or your new house or even your new figure! One important life lesson that I have learned is that self worth is inherent and does not require proof, as we are all equally worthy and deserving. With dedication, passion and achievement we grow our self confidence. We are able to proudly show others the stuff we are made of and become a shining example to others to accomplish their dreams!

Decide what is important to you and what invigorates you. Quiet your monkey mind and use information to guide you and choose the right choice for you. Life is like stepping stones and building blocks; one thing leads you to another and building a strong foundation is always wise. Build on interests that will stand the test of time and that will always be a deep rooted passion for you.

Our thoughts and beliefs control our reality, our health, our openness to receiving love and support. Our smiles, laughter, compassion, kindness and consideration for our self and other people attract more of the same into our lives. As with all things you want to improve on, living life everyday with joy, compassion and faith, takes practice, practice and more practice!

Brave and courageous are when we step out of our comfort zone and believe that if we stumble we are able to pick ourselves up. If we truly believe in miracles, the stumble may enable us to see that we are only afraid of the shadows or what ifs; and that we are truly meant to embrace the joy of being active, the laughter, the helping hand and the beautiful experience of living life unafraid. You are indeed shining the light and love on all that is ready to be healed.
